The Food Corporation of India (FCI) is one of the largest Public Sector Undertakings that deals with the food grain supply chain. FCI conducts recruitment for various posts at different levels, from managerial (Category I & II) to clerical and technical (Category III). The selection process typically involves a multi-phase online examination designed to test a candidate's general aptitude and post-specific knowledge. For managerial posts, an interview is also part of the process.

📌 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962.

Age Limit & Educational Qualification

The requirements vary for different categories:

  • Assistant General Manager (AGM - Category I)
    Age Limit: Generally 28 to 35 years.
    Education: A Post-Graduate Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., Agriculture, Law, etc.).
  • Manager (Category II)
    Age Limit: Maximum 28 years for most posts.
    Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Com, B.E./B.Tech).
  • Category III Posts
    Age Limit: Maximum 27 years for most posts (25 for Typist).
    Education: Varies by post. For example:
    • Junior Engineer (JE): Diploma or Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
    • AG-III (General/Depot): A Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
    • AG-III (Accounts): A Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com).
    • AG-III (Technical): B.Sc. in Agriculture or B.Sc. with Botany/Zoology.

Age relaxation is available for reserved categories (OBC, SC/ST, PwBD) as per government rules.

For Category III Posts

Phase-I Examination (Common for all posts)

This is a preliminary objective test.

Phase-II Examination

This stage consists of one or two papers depending on the post.

  • Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts): A test of 120 MCQs on Reasoning, English, Numerical Aptitude, and General Studies.
  • Paper-II (For specific posts): A test of 60 MCQs on post-specific technical knowledge for roles like JE and AG-III (Technical).
  • Skill Test: For posts like Stenographer and Typist, a skill test in typing and shorthand is conducted, which is qualifying in nature.

For Managerial Posts (AGM & Manager)

The process for managerial posts also involves Phase-I and Phase-II online tests, which are more advanced, followed by an Interview.

The syllabus for managerial posts includes General Aptitude, General Awareness, Management and Ethics, and subjects relevant to the specialization like Agriculture, Law, etc.

  • The final selection for Managerial posts is based on the combined score of the online test and the interview.
  • For most Category III posts, selection is based on the marks obtained in the Phase-II examination.
