ICAR NET Examination — Eligibility, Syllabus & Exam Pattern
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB). It is a qualifying examination to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Unlike other NETs, the ICAR NET focuses solely on the candidate's chosen discipline within the agricultural sciences and does not include a general aptitude paper.
📌 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years.
- Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in the ICAR NET.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned discipline and specialization from a recognized Indian university.
The specific specializations required for each subject are detailed in the official notification. For example, for the "Agricultural Entomology" subject, a Master's degree in Agriculture/Entomology/Zoology is required.
✍️ Exam Syllabus & Pattern
The ICAR NET is a single-paper, computer-based test (CBT). The entire test is focused on the subject chosen by the candidate.
