📌 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit & Marital Status
- Age: Generally between 19 and 24 years. The exact date of birth bracket is specified in the official notification for each course.
- Marital Status: Candidates must be unmarried.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must have a B.E. or B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% marks in an engineering stream relevant to the applied branch.
- For Executive Branch: B.E./B.Tech in any discipline.
- For Technical Branch: B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Marine Engineering.
- For Education Branch: M.Sc. with Physics or Maths or a B.E./B.Tech degree in a relevant field.
A minimum of 60% marks in English in either Class X or Class XII is also a mandatory requirement.

1. Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)
This is a computer-based examination that serves as the initial screening.

Syllabus for INET
- English: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Completion/Correction, Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms).
- Reasoning & Numerical Ability: Puzzles, Coding-Decoding, Series, Speed & Distance, Time & Work, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss.
- General Science & Mathematical Aptitude: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (10+2 level), basic mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry).
- General Knowledge: Current Affairs, History, Geography, Indian Polity, Defence, and important national facts.
2. SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview
Candidates who clear the INET cutoff are called for a five-day SSB interview. The process includes:
- Stage I (Screening): Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and a Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP & DT).
- Stage II (Testing): Includes Psychological Tests, Group Tasks (GTO), and a Personal Interview.
