The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is the largest insurance company in India and conducts its own recruitment drives for various posts. The most prominent among these are for Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO), a managerial role, and Apprentice Development Officer (ADO), a sales supervision role. Both exams are highly competitive and offer a stable career in the insurance sector. The selection process for these posts typically involves online examinations and an interview.
📌 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
A candidate for both posts must be a citizen of India.
1. LIC AAO (Assistant Administrative Officer)
- Age Limit: 21 to 30 years.
- Educational Qualification:
- AAO (Generalist): A Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- AAO (Specialist): A specific degree relevant to the post (e.g., B.E./B.Tech for IT, LLB for Legal).
2. LIC ADO (Apprentice Development Officer)
- Age Limit: 21 to 30 years.
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- Experience: For applicants from the LIC Agent or Employee category, specific years of service or performance metrics are required.
Age relaxation is available for reserved categories (OBC, SC/ST, PwBD) and for certain categories of ADO applicants as per LIC rules.

Phase-III: Interview
Candidates who clear the Main exam are called for an interview. Final selection is based on the combined score of the Main exam and the interview.

- English Language: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Error Spotting, Sentence Improvement, Vocabulary.
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs: National and international current affairs, important financial and economic news.
- Insurance and Financial Market Awareness (for AAO): Insurance terms, history of insurance, financial market concepts, and current developments.
