✍️ Selection Process & Syllabus

1. Screening Test (Shortlisting)

Candidates are shortlisted for the final interview through one of two channels:

  • Channel 1: GATE Score

Candidates with a valid GATE score in their respective discipline can be shortlisted directly for the interview. This is a common method used by NPCIL.

  • Channel 2: Written Examination

NPCIL also conducts its own separate online/offline written test.

    • Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
    • Number of Questions: 100
    • Duration: 2 Hours
    • Marking Scheme: Typically involves negative marking for incorrect answers.
Syllabus for the Written Exam

There is no rigidly defined syllabus provided by NPCIL. The questions are based on the standard curriculum of the qualifying engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) in the respective discipline and are generally aligned with the GATE syllabus for that subject.

2. Personal Interview

This is the final and most crucial stage. Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview where their technical knowledge, communication skills, and overall suitability are assessed.

👉 Note

  • The final selection is made based on the combined performance in the screening test (GATE score or written exam) and the Personal Interview, with each stage having a specific weightage.
