The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts an open competitive examination for recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). This examination, commonly known as SSC CPO, is a significant opportunity for graduates aspiring to join the police and paramilitary forces. The selection process is comprehensive, involving two computer-based written papers (Paper-I & Paper-II), a Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET), and a final Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

📌 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan.

Age Limit

A candidate must be between 20 and 25 years old. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories (OBC, SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen) as per government rules.

Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent is required for all posts.

For the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (for male candidates only), a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) is mandatory on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination)

This is the first objective-type test in the selection process.

Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET)

This stage is mandatory and qualifying in nature. Candidates must clear this stage to be eligible for Paper-II.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)
  • For male candidates:
    • 100-meter race in 16 seconds
    • 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes
    • Long Jump: 3.65 meters (3 chances)
    • High Jump: 1.2 meters (3 chances)
    • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 meters (3 chances)
  • For female candidates:
    • 100-meter race in 18 seconds
    • 800-meter race in 4 minutes
    • Long Jump: 2.7 meters (3 chances)
    • High Jump: 0.9 meters (3 chances)

Paper-II (English Language & Comprehension)

This is also a computer-based objective test.

  • No. of Questions: 200
  • Maximum Marks: 200
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Syllabus: This paper tests proficiency in English, covering topics like vocabulary, spelling, grammar, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, phrases, idioms, and comprehension passages.
